Life is beautiful…
Parang kailan lang ba yun? 6 years? Not too long ago when I was very broke. I know it is not funny to make fun of being broke but looking back through those years would just give me a little smile on my face, saying, “buti na lang I have made it”! So what are my take-away? Here are some of them…
1. Masaklap maging Broke lalo na kung Broken-hearted ka.
Wala ka na ngang jowa, wala ka pang pera.
You might be in the same situation, but hey, make it as an inspiration sabay bulong sa hangin; “BALANG ARAW LULUHOD DIN ANG MGA TALA”
2. Being Broke does not just happen overnight.
Yes, maraming beses kagagawan din natin ang mga bagay-bagay. Check your lifestyle and your spending habit, kadalasan doon galing ang problema. If you already see the cause, you need to change it once and for all.
3. Nagawa kong mag-1,2,3 kapag wala nang pamasahe.
Actually, madaming beses din… (Wag Gayahin)
5. However, it became my turning point and I valued every single peso since then.
Sabi nga ni Loding Zig Ziglar; ” Money is not everything, but it ranks right up there with Oxygen”. I started to value every single cent and I’ve changed my behavior towards money. Mahirap kitain ang pera kaya dapat marunong tayo magpahalaga.
6. I learned to invest in knowledge.
I became obsessed in reading books- at hindi nga ako nagkamali…
” Investing in knowledge pays the best interest”- Benjamin Frankin
7. Nagbabasa din ako ng Proverbs one chapter per day.
Tamang-tama basahin ng isang buwan araw-araw.
Believe it or not, read the book of proverbs in the bible to make you street-wise. The author of proverbs is King Solomon, the wisest and the richest man in the Bible. He’s even richer than Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. You’ll get to learn practical daily advise, personal finance and even in dating straight from this guy!
8. Contentment is the greatest financial freedom.
Contentment is subjective. It depends upon how you see it yourself. As for me, I’ve decided to live a very simple life. I’m a minimalist. What I believe is Less is more. I’m still using the same phone I have 4 years ago, same laptop that same year. The only appliances that I have is my single TV that I barely-used. Does it make me less of a person? Nah! Does it make me less happy? Nah! I’m completely fine to live this way. For me, relationships are more valuable than possessions.
9. …Not to be choosy on jobs.
Once there’s an opportunity, grab it immediately and learn how to do it later. BAWAL ANG TAMAD!
Di ako namili ng trabaho kahit di ayon sa skills ko. Naglako ako ng latundan at saba sa palengke ng Q.C. Nagbenta din ako ng kung ano-ano para may pagkakitaan. I did not even expect that from those experiences, it trained me to talk to customers and got good business ideas from there.
10. You can start saving and investing while you’re BROKE!
Look around you and you will see many resources available. Shock your system and act immediately. Magsimula ka today. Now na!
