Technical Analysis is one of the most boring inventions created by man. Tedious as it can be, it is very helpful and widely used by both ordinary traders and professionals alike. For you to be able to have a consistent return in trading, you need to have a proper trading plan. You can only achieve it by learning technical analysis by heart.
With several intimidating numerical figures showing all around and technical terminologies that are heard for the first time, many find it difficult to learn. It is often overwhelming, but there are some tricks that you would easily learn them if you have the passion to do it intentionally. Sabi nga; “if there’s a will, there’s a way”. So paano ko nga ba natutunan? In my experience, these are the things that have made my journey easy and fun.
1. I became a regular attendee of COL Financial free seminars.
Several brokerage firms offer free seminars even you are not a member yet.
Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), also, conducts free seminars, so you have to really take advantage on it if there are any schedules available. Hearing technical analysis topics over and over again would help you learn fast and you get to familiarize concepts in trading quickly.
I’m a strong believer that books are always best investments and I’ve proven it many times to this day. There I can read some books without buying them. You need to really have the interest to research for good reading materials.
My 3 most favorite books are; How to make money in stocks by William J. O’neil, How I made $2,000,000 in the stock market by Nicolas Darvas, The Trading Code by Jason Cam, a Filipino author. These books are very helpful to the people who have just started in trading.
3. I’ve been watching youtube videos regularly but I have already shifted interests.
4. Investopedia became my new-found best friend.
Investopedia is the wikipedia version of all investment topics from A-Z. Masarap kasi basahin at nakaka-adik sundan. I wasn’t contented on what I’ve seen online and gone the next day, I usually printed those I like most so that I can review and understand it even more. The experience is different when you have it on hand. It works for me.
Manood ka din ng Bloomberg Philippines kung may cable, kung wala, e-like mo lang ang fb page nila to get updates on economic news.
The advantage is that you can join it even you are at home. By doing so, you can save your time on the hassle of the traffic in Metro Manila.
6. I also attended paid seminars and short courses. Hindi required pero pwede mo din gawin.
Caylum Trading Institute is a good avenue you can learn basic Technical Analysis and stock market concepts. They are doing it on a regular basis for an affordable amount. They also have short-courses for those people who want to have a career as a stock trader. Their programs are highly-recommended for beginners.
7. I searched for a mentor that I can look up to and learned from him.
You can learn everything by yourself but it has also a big difference when you have someone who can guide you and would make an impact in your life especially in your chosen craft. Find someone who walks the talk, who have the credibility and most of all integrity.
I went back to learning as a student.
